She’s mid-turn, mid-thought—caught in that flicker of time where something might happen, but hasn’t yet. Her gaze lands on you, not sharply, but with a kind of quiet assessment. Like she’s deciding whether to turn fully or let the moment pass.

I chose red and green for the contrast. Not just to make it pop, but to make it shout look! without saying a word. They press against each other—bright, insistent—while the brushstrokes stay loose. Gouache, laid down quickly in an hour or two, chasing that feeling where time pauses and you’re held in it, just long enough to notice.

There’s something deeper sitting underneath. Not melancholy exactly. More like the feeling of a cool autumn day, damp enough that the wind can’t lift the leaves. They cling to the pavement—not dramatically, just stubbornly. It hums if you listen long enough.
