Midas’s Touch
Sometimes, a painting begins with just a color.
For this one, it was gold — the kind that feels like warmth itself. I started by chasing the light that glows through a flower in the sun. Then reds, golds, and greens joined in, until the canvas seemed to breathe with color.
The large yellow rose became the heart of it all, surrounded by red roses and sunflowers glowing against the dark. It reminded me that beauty doesn’t need brightness everywhere — sometimes, contrast makes the light feel most alive.
